I’m verifying all the backups right now and the server should be down around 1 PM ET for the format and OS restore.

After that, we will be configuring and testing Apache 2.2, Squid and Webmin, as well as the other services.

Keep an eye out on this blog for details.

I was starting to wonder when we’d finally go down :P

I think there was over 5GB to download — that’s including the databases for safe measure.

5 Gigs :O that’s a lot of data :P but I guess page histories take up a lot of space (even if you only keep the diffs), especially for episode articles (each one has probably had around a hundred revisions).

Anyway, keep up the good work on the upgrade, I hope it will indeed improve performance.

    So upgrade we all ;)
