In talking to a few people who have not been able to access the website since our move, it appears that Plusnet internet service provider—serving the United Kingdom—has an issue with The Planet’s DNS entries. The Planet, as you may be aware, is home to our two web servers. Since Plusnet users can’t access the website due to malformed or incorrect DNS entries, people have not been able to access the website from that ISP.

Plusnet and The Planet are working on a solution right now, but I have no ETA on when Plusnet people can access the website without using web anonymizers or web proxies that do not suffer this problem.

Please spread word to your friends, so as to let them know we haven’t been taken to the New Caprica detention center. Thanks!

I’ve also been unable to access the wiki for some time now. I’m in the Czech Republic with the O2 ISP. I hope you can get something working soon, I used to visit all the time!!!

Sorry to hear about the trouble folks!

We’re trying to figure out what’s going on here… if you guys can send us results from your own ping tests, that would help out tremendously. We believe it to be something with your ISPs’ domain name servers (DNS), and we’d like to verify that so we can contact your ISPs with this information.

If you’re having problems with accessing the Battlestar Wiki, please contact your ISPs and file a tech support claim, so that they already know about the issue. (Since you guys pay for the ISPs, you’re fully within your right to file complaints, since clearly they are having issues.)

    Thanks!

@not in Alaska: Also, I’ve contacted ACS (a.k.a. Alaska.com) and sent them a tech support ticket. i hope to get a response in a business day or two (by Tuesday, I hope).

@not in Alaska: Received an e-mail from ACS a few hours ago, while I was taking a nap.

They’ve confirmed that there’s an issue in accessing BSG Wiki from their servers and have notified their tech support department about the issue.
